The Crafted Universe
This reality is smaller by many magnitudes than our own, having a radius less than half that of the Earth's orbit, though that does not mean there is any less world or story to explore here. The concentration of civilizations in such a small area is astonishing, for in it were dozens of planets, many of which had large populations at some point in the reality's long history.
Well, the history may not seem long compared to our 13 billion Earth years, though for all of the 1.56 million Earth years of its existence, there were intelligent beings roaming around and between the planets. Thus, there is a rich well from which to draw stories from. I do not know yet which I will choose to tell.
But this page is for the wider view of this reality. The shape of it was simple, for it was bounded by a sphere of indestructible material that glowed in chaotic cycles that only faintly resembled your own day/night patterns. Sometimes, a bright day would give way to a deep, purple night that lasted several Earth days, and other times a day came where the sky was blood red. Such light washed over all the universe at once, over all the planets and all their lands.
Perhaps stranger were the planets themselves. They were not spheres, but tetrahedrons. There the Platonic Solids, which your humanity finds merely interesting, had magical properties for certain materials, and the planets were made of matter that, when arranged in a tetrahedron, had attractive qualities. On a large scale, this simulated gravity, and thus, to stand on its surface would have felt like standing on the Earth. Granted, the surroundings may have been far less familiar, with strange creatures accompanying the only somewhat recognizable.
Those planets lied on twin spirals in 3D space originating from the center of the Sphere, where stood the largest planet. The radius of the Sphere was, in fact, exactly 149 times the edge length of the largest planet. A model of the universe can be found on this website. There were 53 planets total, though only 11 had radii larger than half of your Moon's radius. The planets did not orbit anything, and did not move at all, being anchored in place. Two were perfect Serpinski's Tetrahedrons, though one was destroyed about halfway through the reality's history.
To fully explore the inner rules of this reality is like navigating a dense forest. The physical laws are deceptively similar to ours in many ways, though there are differences that conjure sights and objects that you would consider fully magical. I will discuss those in a separate page, but for now I leave you with the simple fact of there having been 27 types of matter and energy in this universe, each with its own properties.
Amongst the chaos of a universe flooded with magic and life, there lied a certain beauty that lurked in the background.
