The Universe of Gen

This is a universe only a slightly farther distance from ours as the Universe of Elrys. There was an Earth, along with humans much like us, though the underlying physical laws were different in a subtle way. Massively powerful intergalactic beings existed, and one was named Gen.

Before I go on, I wish to explain some of my philosophy in sharing more of this universe upfront than for the others. I refer you to the Gen Megaseries page, but to paraphrase, there is no true plotline for that series, and so overarching mysteries or story beats are not nearly as prevalent. There is much less reason to keep things hidden. And so I may as well share the wonderful details of a universe that I find among my favorites of those I have seen. That is not to say that I will reveal everything, though. There is plenty I shall leave behind the curtain--anything that I think might ruin one of the many standalone stories I wish to tell.

So the reality itself. There are other interesting places in just about every corner of space, but I choose to focus on the places that Gen lived and created, namely Vol-Tana. In Gen's language of Tap-Uskri, the world's name translates to "Perfect Planet", and for good reason. Vol-Tana was the favorite of the five planets Gen created, and it was there that they chose to put life and humanity.

For a time, the planet was not too different from Earth, with many of the same plants and animals roaming the surface and humans living in peaceful bliss without magic. Gen would eventually flee the planet, though, and in its wake it left shards of its power that would lead to the creation of gods and magic. Strange is the course of history, for the continents were raised into the sky, horrid mutants of creatures would be forged, and magical empires would form. If you wish to read on about the places, people, and events of this world, there are several lists below. If you wish to travel directly to the places of most interest, I recommend heading to the Vol-Tana page (once it's created, of course), for it holds the bulk of what I find most interesting about this universe.

Hello once more! It's Uluscri. I come out of the shadows for a moment to have a quick word with you about this universe, for it is very special to me. It's the first I ever developed for Grand Reality (well, this Multiverse more grew off of it, but that's another story), and so it naturally has the most fleshed out lore within its depths. I have pages of history, multiple maps both physical and digital, and a few novel drafts I started but have put on hold since I started Seven Forces. It's almost a decade old at this point (I started working on it around very late 2014, if I remember correctly), and has gone through several iterations, but the one I present on this page is final.

This reality is my firstborn and favorite of all of them (shhh, don't tell the others!), and so that is the main reasoning behind me sharing a lot of the lore upfront without waiting for the books to come out, along with the reasons Reliul gave (they are still true). It also serves as a taste of what sort of worldbuilder I am--you know, what to expect of the rest of the website once the books come out and it gets properly filled out. And hopefully it gets you interested in any books I may write.

Also, I now have a video out on my YouTube channel for this universe. It's a general overview of Vol-Tana and its floating islands, and only hints at some of the deeper history involved. There's a link here if you wanna check it out.
